Palworldplayers on Xbox will be able to preview the game’s big June update early. While the update toPalworddoesn’t officially launch until June 27, Xbox Insider users can currently access a preview build, and it’s compatible with existing save files.
Thenew Sakurajima update toPalworldwas teased in a 90-second-long trailer at Summer Game Fest on June 7, promising a new island for players to explore, new building levels, PvP arenas, and dedicated servers for Xbox users. That trailer also showed off some new pals for players to collect and interact with at bases, including the addition of new subspecies for existing pals.
As announced by Xbox Insider on Twitter, users of the program can already access a preview version of the Sakurajima update more than two weeks before it launches. While the announcement doesn’t state everything included in the preview, it does play up thededicatedPalworldservers on Xbox, noting that players will now be able to create their own servers and adventure in their own instance of the game with any friends they invite on their journey. Due to the game’s unexpected burst of popularity when it debuted in January 2024,Palworldwas weighed down with server issues shortly after launch, and the ability for players on Xbox to create their own servers became a highly requested upgrade among the fan community.
How to Join the Palworld June Preview
To take advantage of the preview event, Xbox users must either own a copy ofPalwordor have access to it through an active subscription to Game Pass. They’ll also need to be part of theXbox Insider program, which is as simple as installing the Xbox Insider Hub on their console. Once opening the Hub, they’ll need to go to Previews, selectPalwordUpdate Preview, and wait for registration to finish. The hub will automatically direct them to the preview’s download page on the Xbox Store. Finally, Xbox Insider recommends players restart their consoles before booting up the preview build, as doing so will trigger an update.
Even for those not joining the preview event,Palworldlooks to be expanding its content greatly with the June 27 update. The game already allows players to catch and collect more than 100 different species in an open-world survival crafting environment, and theaddition of newPalworldPalsshould serve to boost the quality of the monster-catching theme that has made the game an overnight success.
