However, defeating Cohozuna inSplatoon 3takes a lot of effort. Every team member needs to be aware of how to avoid its massive attacks while also dealing enough damage before the timer goes off. The boss can be even harder than usual depending on the map, for example, Cohozuna is hardest at high tide.
How To Make The Salmonid King Appear
The key to making the King appear is theSalmoneter. This is a salmonid-shaped meter that players are able to see while hanging out in the Salmon Run lobby.It fills up bit by bit witheach playthrough of Salmon Run.
When full, the next playthrough will play as normal but then have an extra wave after wave three.Another way for the bossto appear is if another player in the co-op has this meter full.
How To Fight Cohozuna
Thebest way to deal damageagainst Cohozuna is to actually use eggs. The Cohozuna wave gives players a special weapon that canshoot golden eggs at Cohozuna. This means the team of players will need to fight other bosses, get them to drop these eggs, and use the eggs on Cohozuna. If players attempt to defeat him with normal attacks alone, he will not die before the timer goes off. The timer gives players only100 secondsto beat him.

If players lose to Cohozuna, the first three completed waves will still be counted as wins, and players are still rewarded with some scales depending on how much remaining HP Cohozuna has when the timer goes off.
While players can regularly attack Cohozuna,regular attacks do way less damage than shooting the eggs. To throw eggs, players will still require ink. Sostock up on ink to throw eggsat Cohozuna. While doing this,players must keep themselves distant from Cohozuna. He will sometimes attack by jumping and kill players he lands on in one hit.

Cohozuna rewards players withFish Scales.They come in Bronze, Silver, and Goldand can be traded in the Grizzco lobby area. Therewards get better the higher a player’s rank isat Grizzco. Fish Scales can be traded for stickers, decorations, banners, anddifferent colored work suits.
