Splatoon 3’s plaza is full of new fan art, andKing of the Hill’s Bobby Hillhas made an appearance. A player looked to the iconic 1990s and 2000s cartoon for inspiration and has shared something the community is thrilled with.

Splatoon 3has seen many improvementsover its predecessor, but the ability to upload images for the chance of them being seen in the plaza is something that’s been around since the series' inception. Those who sent outSplatoon-themed images and messages via the game’s mailbox have a chance of them appearing in the plaza, either as a message over their playable character’s head, or as graffiti or posters throughout the square.

This is what one player did when they created a funny piece ofKing of the HillandSplatoonmash-up fanart, which has been noticed and re-shared by the game’s community.Splatoon3player and Twitter user NightlineZ uploaded an image showing Bobby Hill as an Inkling, wearing the original hairstyle from the firstSplatoongame, complete with the eye coloring and pointy ears of Inklings, yelling “That’s my turf, I don’t know you!” Bobby Hill was always a playful and imaginative character who enjoyed video games, so it’s not hard to imagine him playingSplatoon.

The post is a play on one of the iconic episodes of the original series, in which Bobby Hill tries to take self-defense classes and ends up learning how defend himself in a women’s course, complete with the line “That’s my purse, I don’t know you!” It’s a great match-up, since the point ofSplatoon 3’s turf warsis to cover the area with ink and then defend it from other players who attempt to cover it with their own color.

Fans ofSplatoonandKing of the Hillhave been quick to praise the work, sharing it on Reddit as well as finding the original post on Twitter. There’s no way to be sure how many players have seen the art, since it’s been posted in-game and any number of Inklings and Octolings may have come across it, but it’s clear that many have seen it on social media and gotten a laugh out of it.

King of the Hillhas been said to be getting a revivalof some kind, though talks with Fox to bring it back on its original channel seem to have fallen through. At this point, there’s no way to be sure if Bobby Hill will return to TV and whether there will have been a time skip rendering him an adult or not, but even if the series doesn’t get a second chance, fans like these will be there to bring the iconic series into pop culture of the present.

Splatoon 3is available now for Nintendo Switch.
