Where to Catch a Sandfish in Stardew Valley

While there are plenty of different areas to catch fish in the game, there is only one place where players can catch a Sandfish: Calico Desert. Players need to head towards the northwest section of this area and begin casting in the small pond nearSkull Cavern. The active hours for the Sandfish arebetween 6am and 8pm in any season.

The Sandfish is about middle of the pack when it comes to its catching difficulty, and displays mixed behavior when on the hook. This fish’s value varies from 75 gold at base value, but can be sold for up to 225 gold if the Sandfish is of iridium quality and players and haveunlocked the Angler profession in their playthrough.

Sandfish can be used in crafting Maki Rolls, Quality Fertilizer, and Sashimi. It is also a part of the Specialty Fish Bundle in the Community Center.

How to Get to Calico Desert in Stardew Valley

Calico Desert is an exterior location to the northwest of Pelican town and the player’s farm, but it can only be accessed after the Bus becomes operational. There are two ways to do this.

Community Center

Withinthe Community Center inStardew Valley, players must purchase all four bundles in the Vault section of the building to unlock the Bus Stop reward. This will come to a total cost of 42,500 gold and will earn players 3 Chocolate Cakes, 30 Quality Fertilizer, 1 Lightning Rod, and a Crystalarium along the way.

OnceStardew Valleyplayers have purchased a JojaMart membershipfor 5,000 gold from Morris, they open up the option to purchase town improvements. Only one can be bought per day and, for those looking to open up the path to the Calico Desert, the Bus Stop costs 40,000 gold.

With the Bus active, players can purchase a ticket for 500 gold from the stand at the Bus Stop to travel to Calico Desert. Alternatively, players can also use aWarp Totem: Desertor theDesert Obeliskto teleport themselves into the Calico Desert free of charge.
