Norra is an exclusive champion toLegends of Runeterra, which isLeague of Legends' TCG equivalent. She is a Yordle enchantress who uses portals to travel to different realms depicted in the Book of Thresholds with her familiar Yuumi. However, Norra went missing after going on a journey so perilous that she had to destroy the portal she used, leaving Yuumi to seek her out using the Book of Thresholds. Now, the magical Yordle will continue living on inTeamfight TacticsMagic n' Mayhem.
Norra: From Legends of Runeterra to Teamfight Tactics
Teamfight Tacticsis known for including champions and themes based on existingLeague of LegendsIP. Its go-to inspirations are usually skin lines, which are the basis for many traits and champion designs. But recently,Teamfight Tacticshas been introducing new champions that aren’t playable in the Summoner’s Rift, such asSilco fromArcanefor Runeterra Reforged (Set 9) and now, Norra fromLegends of Runeterrafor Magic n' Mayhem (Set 12).
As the name suggests,Teamfight TacticsMagic n' Mayhem features different types of magic through its traits. The Portal trait, in particular, is inspired by Norra’s ability to conjure up portals to enter different dimensions. As a 5-cost champion, Norra, accompanied by Yuumi, launches projectiles that bounce and explode upon contact with enemies. With the right damage and mana items, Norra and Yuumi can become strong backline units during the mid to late game.
When the Portal trait is active, a portal opens up at the side of the board that summons objects from different dimensions. These objects can either disrupt enemy actions or help allies in battle, and they also get more powerful with every trait breakpoint.

How Champions Like Norra Open Up More Crossover Opportunities for Teamfight Tactics
Thecrossovers inTeamfight Tacticsdon’t just show Riot Games' versatility in interpreting champions in different ways, but also serve as the developers' way to strengthen relationships with teams handling otherLeague of LegendsIP. Apart from Norra, Set 12 also features a collaboration withLeague of Legends: Wild Riftto feature the Stargazer skin line under the Chrono trait.
The collaborations have been promising becauseTeamfight Tacticsis doing its part in helping players familiarize themselves withLeague of Legends' canon loreand alternate said lore through its diverse selection of champions and traits for every set. The inclusion of Norra gives more insight into her relationship with Yuumi and her enchantress powers, and also shows that she is just as important, even though she’s not a regular character inLeague of Legends' stories.
Past and presentTeamfight Tacticschampions like Norra, Silco, and Alune have opened the door for other collaborations in future sets.Teamfight Tacticshas also proven that it can introduce exclusive characters, such as Kobuko in Inkborn Fables (Set 11), who complement the theme and certain traits. There’s definitely a bright future where such champions can continue to thrive, even if they’re not part ofLeague of Legends' main roster.
