Luckily,Terrariaprovides a solution to the debuff problem with the Ankh Shield, which grants immunity to 12 different adverse effects and knockbacks. Crafting the Ankh Shield is lengthy and time-consuming, but the final result is entirely worth it.Here’s how to make an Ankh Shield in Terraria.

8How To Make The Ankh Shield In Terraria

The Ankh Shield in Terraria has one of the most extensive and long-winded crafting trees in the whole of Terraria with 12 different ingredients; its crafting complexity is comparative with the legendary Zenith sword. Like most items with complex crafting trees, the Ankh Shield is crafted at the Tinkerer’s Workshop. It involves combining an Obsidian Shield with the Ankh Charm. The Obsidian Shield is relatively simple, but the Ankh Charm requires several rare components.

Players can gather these ingredients through natural progression and exploration of their world in Hardmode. Still, some of these items have meager drop chances of 1%, meaning players may need to grind spots for a chance to find these rare items.

7The Obsidian Shield

The Obsidian Shield is one of the two main components of the Ankh Shield and makes the player immune to knockback and fire blocks. It is crafted at a Tinkerer’s Workshop crafting station with an Obsidian Skull and Cobalt Shield. The latter requires 20 Obsidian ore and must be prepared at a Hellforge or Adamantite/Titanium Forge.

The Cobalt Shieldrequires luck more than anything else. Despite its namesake being an ore itself, the Cobalt Shield can be found in Locked Gold Chests in the Dungeon, so players will need to gather some Golden Keys from the Dungeon to open up some chests. Once players have made this, they should put it aside for safekeeping and focus on the rest of the crafting tree.

6Reflective Shades

The Reflective Shades are a unique accessory requiring the Pocket Mirror and the Blindfold items, granting immunity to the Darkness and Stoned debuffs. Medusa inflicts the Stoned debuff while in her line of sight, and she is, funnily enough, the only enemy inTerrariathat drops the Pocket Mirror with a 2.5% drop rate. Medusa can spawn in the Marble Caves underground mini-biome and is detected by the Lifeform Analyzer.

Blindfolds are dropped by Corrupt Slimes, Shadow Slimes, Crimslimes, Blood Mummies, and Dark Mummies found in their respective Corrupted/Crimson biome. Like most of the other vital ingredients, Blindfolds only have a 1% drop rate, so the chances are players will be farming these mobs for a while. A Battle Potion may expedite the process.

5Armor Bracing

Armor Bracingcan be crafted at a Tinkerer’s Workshopwith the Armor Polish and Vitamins. This item will make the player immune to the Broken Armor and Weakness debuffs. Players can obtain Armor Polish by killing Armored Skeletons in the Cavern layer orBlue Armored Bones in the Dungeon, which typically spawn in areas with Brick Walls. Both methods have a 1% drop chance.

Vitamins are another rare drop from Corruptors in the Corruption biome, often spawning on the Surface layer or Floaty Crosses in the Underground Crimson biome, dependent on which biome has infected the players' world.

4The Plan

The Plan requires a Trifold Map and a Fast Clock to craft at a Tinkerer’s Workshop, providing immunity to Slow and Confusion effects. Players have a 1% chance of getting a Trifold Map from Spectral Mummies in the Desert or Giant Bat mobs in the Cavern layer. Clowns also have the potential to drop this item, but theyonly spawn during a Blood Moon event. Fast Clocks are also extremely rare, dropping from the regular Mummies in the Desert or Pixies in the Hallow biome.

3Medicated Bandage

The Medicated Bandage provides immunity for two of the most deadly debuffs in the game: Poison and Bleeding. This item requires a Bezoar and an Adhesive Bandage. The Bezoar drops from Moss Hornets and Toxic Sludges in the Jungle biome.

Players may struggle to obtain the Adhesive Bandage, as rare creatures like the Werewolf, Angler Fish, and Rusty Armored Bones drop it. Players can farm Rusty Armored Bones mobs' in the Dungeon by placing Water Candles near Slab Walls to increase their spawn rate.

2Countercurse Mantra

The final ingredient to this behemoth of an accessory is the Countercurse Mantra. It requires a Nazar and Megaphone to be in the player’s inventory at a Tinkerer’s Workshop. The Nazar can be dropped from Cursed mobs in the Dungeon, Underground Hallow, Underground Corruption or Underground Crimson, with a 1% drop rate.

Megaphones can bedropped from Dark and Blood Mummies in the Desertor Pixies in the Hallow biome, with Pixies being the best option for players to farm to get the Megaphone and the Fast Clock.

They should have previously made Obsidian Shield in their inventory to combine it with their Ankh Charm to finally craft the illustrious Ankh Shield.

This shielding accessory will make them immune to Bleeding, Broken Armor, Burning, Confusion, Curses, Darkness, Poison, Silences, Slows, Weaknesses, Chilled, and Stoned debuffs as one of the best pieces of equipment inTerraria.Crafting the Ankh SHield will also award players with the “Ankhumulation Complete” achievement!
