Summary

2023 was a pretty great year for gaming subscription services, at least for the most part. WhilePlayStation Plusdid see a major price hike for all of its tiers - which caused some serious backlash - the dust seems to have settled a little, andPS Plushas really been going out of its way to try and prove the service’s worth in the last few months. Xbox Game Pass has been no different, essentially firing on all cylinders since September of last year and refusing to slow down anytime soon.

When it comes to their monthly additions,Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plustend to go their own separate ways. While Game Pass usually thrives on getting a lot of day-one Indie releases, PS Plus seems a little more focused on bringing over the biggest AAA releases of the last few years. However, that doesn’t mean that the two gaming subscription services have never crossed paths before. There have been several occasions over the last few years where Game Pass and PS Plus have shared one or two titles in the same month, and January 2024 is just the latest instance of that.
