One of the biggest announcements of the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase may surprise quite a few gamers. It’s a new expansion for the iconic 2014 simulation gameThe Sims 4. But it’s not just and DLC forThe Sims 4. It’s aStar Wars-themed DLC. Coming September 8.The Sims 4players will be able to travel to a galaxy far, far away in theJourney to Batuugame pack. Electronic Arts confirms the DLC will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on launch.
The key promise ofThe Sims 4: Journey to Batuuis exactly whatStar Warsfanswould want. Players will be able to create their very ownStar Warscharacters inThe Sims 4. Whether it’s an obedient Storm Trooper or a wily smuggler, a treacherous Sith or an honorable Jedi,The Sims 4players can customize their dream space-farer as they please. Players can then take these characters and use them to interact with notable Star Wars characters including Rey Skywalker, Kylo Ren, and Hondo.

Players won’t just be customizing characters, however. They’ll also be customizing their homes.Journey to Batuuunlocks a variety of unique Batuu locations, including a classicStar Warscantina and theMillennium Falconitself. Within these locations area variety of fun Star Wars hijinx. For example, players can play the game Sabacc in the cantina. There’s a ton of uniqueStar Wars-themed unlocks to discover and use to personalize players’The Sims 4experience.
One other awesome major feature inJourney to Batuuis a completely new storyline for player to experience for themselves. This involves creating a character, choosing a faction from either the Resistance, the First Order, or a Batuu rebel faction, and interacting with the variousStar Warsfigures. Of course, while it’ll be a unique Star Wars story for players to unravel on their own, players will still have the same freedom and player agency thatThe Sims 4always promises, as well.
As with all priorDLC forThe Sims 4, theJourney to Batuugame pack will require the base game to play. After that, theJourney to BatuuDLC will cost just $19.99 regardless of which platform the player is on. Once again,The Sims 4players can pick up and playThe Sims 4: Journey to Batuustarting on September 8 across all supported platforms.
