A sequel toTiny Tina’s Wonderlandscould bring back one ofBorderlands 2’s most amusing Easter eggs in a big way. WhileBorderlandshas always been a quirky series to begin with,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsembraces the series' chaotic and offbeat nature even more than usual. For this reason, it is perfect for referencing some of the more unusual parts of previous games. In particular,Borderlands 2featured an unexpected shout-out to a game from a completely different genre. It was out of place, but fitBorderlandssense of humor, andTiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2could take it even further.
The most notable thing aboutBorderlandsspin-offTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis its unique design and framing device compared to otherBorderlandstitles. WhileBorderlandsis a zany series in its own right,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandstakes the gameplay style and places into aDungeons and Dragons-esque world narrated by Tiny Tina herself. Tina’s active imagination and enthusiastic personality lead to a story with even more bizarre twists and turns than a typicalBorderlandsadventure. That combined with the addition of spells makeTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsan entertaining twist on the series' norms, and one that is worth revisiting in the future. When that happens, fans should also get to experience a deeper version ofBorderlands 2’sMinecrafthomage.

Borderlands 2’s Minecraft Easter Egg Is A Comically Perfect Fit For Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
One of theBorderlands 2’s stranger moments is one of thebest easter eggs in theBorderlandsseries. In one part of the Caustic Caverns inBorderlands 2, the player can find an unusually square ledge that they can access. Following the path from there will lead them to a wall of blocks that look very similar to those fromMinecraftthat they have to break. Beyond a couple of these walls is a cave that is inhabited byMinecraft’s infamous Creepers. In addition to this unexpected encounter, the player will also have an opportunity to unlock a headpiece designed inMinecraft’s art style.
Borderlands 2’s Minecraft easter egg would fit perfectly into a sequel toTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. While players are trekking acrossTiny Tina’s Wonderlands’interactive map, the plot is subject to Tina’s own ideas, and the sudden appearance ofMinecraft-themed blocks and enemies would not be out of character. A resurgence of the Easter egg could even be turned into its own side challenge, with the player having to do battle with Endermen or Blazes, as well as a return of the Creepers. Such a mission could even give the player a chance to earnMinecraft-themed gear, like blocky swords and crossbows.
A part of what made theMinecraftEaster egg work inBorderlands 2was its sheer goofiness. It’s impossible to take a handful of Creepers roaming around in a random cave, andBorderlands' penchant for media spoofskeeps such a joke from being out of place. That same absurdity makes the easter egg a perfect fit forTiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which has an even more off-the-wall aesthetic that welcomes such shout-outs with open arms. It’s easy to imagine Tina narrating the way that a bunch ofMinecraftmonsters would suddenly appear, momentarily interrupting the player’s quest.
The cave of Creepers may be the weirdest thing that players could find inBorderlands 2, but that made the Easter egg unforgettable. If the world of Bunkers & Badasses gets revisited, then it would be likely to continue Tina’s brand of fantasy-infused chaos for another installment. There is astrong case for aTiny Tina’s Wonderlandssequel, and the surprise return of theMinecraftEaster egg could be a fun surprise, especially with added commentary from Tina and the gang.Minecraftmay not be an official part of theBorderlandsuniverse, butTiny Tina’s Wonderlands2could certainly have a place for it.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
