Activision Blizzard is preparing to releaseOverwatch 2, and recently a beta for the game got underway. Now, thanks to the interest in this upcoming sequel, xQc has seen his popularity on Twitch grow even bigger. Coming off his alpha experience withOverwatch 2, the PvP closed beta for the game caused xQc to top his previous Twitch viewership record set back earlier in April 2022.
Popular Twitch streamer xQc continues to reach new heights with his livestreams lately as he plays popular games, sticks to some of his favorite titles, and talks to his community in Let’s Chat. During theOverwatch 2alpha, xQc accidentally leaked the launcher for the game, but because the beta is open to livestreaming, theOverwatchveteran showed his community the game he had already dabbled in. The result of xQc returning to theOverwatchseries with theOverwatch 2beta was not just surpassing his former record, but smashing past it.

TheOverwatch 2PvP betabegan on April 26 and will run until May 17, but the viewership hit its peak heights on the beta’s second day. Playing theOverwatch 2beta live to his Twitch audience on April 27, xQc exceeded his old record of 278,176 to set a new personal best for himself of 312,158. The increasing statistics have the popular Twitch streamer at around 525 million total views, 609 million hours watched, and 34,929 average viewers from an audience of 10.6 million followers.
Twitch’s xQc was known for playingOverwatchprior to his livestreaming popularity, so it’s no surprise that he’s taking part in the recent beta after the alpha event. Twitch statistics often show xQc as the number one viewed livestreamer on the platform, being thenumber one Twitch streamer in 2021and 2019 and often trading number one with another creator throughout other years. In addition to xQc, other streamers like Asmongold, Pokimane, and Myth have also shared their experiences so far with theOverwatch 2PvP beta.
Members of xQc’s community have been watching theOverwatchpro play the PvP beta since it began, but he’s also offering tips on stream to help other players, like suggesting thebest tank to playor talking about the issues with Bastion.Overwatchalso saw a boom in interest with the launch of the beta, which may have caused a perfect storm when combined with xQc and his large Twitch audience that’s familiar with his escapades in the originalOverwatch. Although xQc played the firstOverwatchprofessionally, it’s currently unclear if he’ll play the sequel as competitively, given his Twitch success.
