Coming out on top of the 2019 Steam Awards is From Software’s critically-acclaimedSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which fans have awarded with Game of the Year. This challenging action title went up against the likes of theResident Evil 2remake andStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and while this is some stiff competition, it is not shocking to seeSekirocome out ahead, considering that it also wonGame of the Year at The Game Awards 2019.

With respect to VR Game of the Year, the Steam Award goes toBeat Saber, whileA Plague Tale: Innocencehas received the accolade for Outstanding Story-Rich Game. Additionally,My Friend Pedrohas taken home the award for Most Innovative Gameplay,Grishas received the prize forOutstanding Visual Style, andDayZhas the honor of being a game that is truly Better with Friends.
There are also a couple of Steam Awards categories that are less straightforward, and they may require a bit of explanation. While certainly not every fan will ultimately agree with the Steam Awards 2019 nominees and winners, which can be seen in full below, the titles on the list make on thing very clear: 2019 had a myriad of stellar games for players to enjoy.
