Summary
OneLegend of Zeldafan has taken to the internet to give their thoughts on what would be a fun Hyrule adventure, and it sounds a lot like a crossover withStardew Valley. That shouldn’t be seen as a knock either, asStardew Valleyis widely considered to beone of the best cozy farming games availabletoday.

Reddit user ICantFindAUsernamz gives their idea for the next spinoff title in theLegend of Zeldafranchise which involves going about day-to-day life and rebuilding Hyrule as Link and Princess Zelda. The creative fan still imagines that the game would contain some occasional combat, but most of the campaign would consist of assisting the citizens of Hyrule and helping the land recover after the events ofTears of the Kingdom. Naturally, the Redditor took their idea to theTears of the Kingdomcommunity so other fans could give their thoughts.
As the top commenter notes, the game sounds an awful lot like a cross betweenThe Legend of ZeldaandStardew Valley. Others have likened the idea to other cozy sims likeAnimal Crossing. Either way, it appears as though fans are on board with the mashup idea. It does make some sense too as the franchise hasn’t been afraid to experiment before, and a life sim could certainly rank toward the top ofgenresThe Legend of Zeldashould explore.
Generally speaking, Nintendo’s more experimentalZeldatitles are pretty well received. Between titles likeHyrule WarriorsandCadence of Hyrule,The Legend of Zeldais easily one of theNintendo franchises with the best spinoff titles. It’s impossible to say if a cozy life sim could be next for theZeldafranchise, but it probably wouldn’t be the most out-of-left-field choice from the Big N in recent memory.
Between games likeMario + RabbidsandPokemon Snap, there are plenty of spinoff titles from Nintendo that have gone on to be major hits. TheMario Kartfranchise is technically a spinoff, but that hasn’t stoppedMario Kart 8 Deluxefrom topping the list of thebest-selling Nintendo Switch games. IfThe Legend of Zeldafranchise does get another offshoot title, the proven track record suggests it will be worth a try, at the very least.
